What to do for Halloween?

We have some Halloween tracts to hand out to the people who come to our house this year. Please post comments and suggestions on what you're doing, if anything, to witness to the lost about this day.

I live in a neighborhood where there are many kids and also kids come from other areas to trick or treat. For the last 8 years we have placed Halloween tracts in a candy bag and have passed them out. We try to be a light on this dark day & night. Only the Lord knows who and how many have responded.

I dont know what to do. Our Dd is almost 4 now. Other years we were able to just ignore it or be gone during trick or treating. Our DD does not like seeing the evil costumes and decorations in the stores. She says she does not like haloween. We have tried to tell her as much as a 4 yr old would understand. We try to stay out of the stores as much as possible, but, you know. Still need to eat and buy detergent!

If we were to pass out tracks and candy, I feel as if I am justifying the day for some people but not for us.

One of my sisters does a Reformation Day instead. Like Luther posted the Thesis on the door of the Wittenburg church. She posts scriptures and has hints for a candy hunt in the house for the kids.

My in laws think we are nuts because we dont celebrate. They think is JUST about getting candy.

I agree in giving out the tracts, but I believe that giving out candy is participating. I plan to post signs w/scripture. My kids and I are also putting tracts in our neighborhood mailboxes this week. I'm praying the Lord will open their eyes while they read about the origins of Halloween and what occult darkness and evil is involved.

Scripture for Halloween: Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].

1 Thess 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

We don't do anything, we leave the house every Halloween and haven't had anything to do with it since becoming Christians. Our boys who are now grown, have never celebrated it and we always told them for what it is, satan's holiday.

Mt 15:3 - But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Jer 10:2 - Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
